What About Boom And Bust Cycles?
Lets keep our government from butting in and let our economy run its course.

A free economy sheds jobs from time to time. It also creates jobs. Most of this is due to the innovation that is a function of a free market: as businesses advance, old technologies and processes are replaced with newer and better ways of doing things. It's the way the world is built.
Some call it a boom and bust cycle, but it is really just an economy taking its natural course.

A good example is when the first word processors started replacing typewriters back in the mid-1980's. This innovation meant the entire typewriter industry was on the way to becoming more or less obsolete, though there remains a small market for typewriters to this day. Most people who manufactured, sold and repaired typewriters were now out of a job, ending an era that began in the 19th century.

Should the government have stepped in? Should they have protected the typewriter industry by either prohibiting word processors or by subsidizing the typewriter industry to keep it afloat?

No, of course not. This was simply an economy being an economy: a new technology was replacing an old one.

Friends, this is not the time for more government intervention and interference. It's human nature to be comforted by the notion that our government can get us out of this mess, but the truth is they can't.

Consider this: if a government controlled economy were the answer, then the Soviet Union would have won the Cold War.

No government controlled economy has ever produced sustained economic growth because government controlled economies have never worked. Only a free market, where citizens decide what goods and services they want to purchase and the price they want to pay for them, can produce sustained economic growth. The only way for a nation and its citizens to flourish is with low taxes and free markets.

The Purpose Of Government
The purpose of government is to provide for the liberty of its citizens.

Our Financial Crisis
Our problems are both short and long term. Something must be done now.

Taxes
A flat tax is the best way to get this country moving again.

Our National Debt
Our annual deficit should be limited to two percent of our Gross Domestic Product.

Capitalism Is Not A Four Letter Word
Only a free market can get our economy out of the doldrums.

What About Boom And Bust Cycles?
Let's keep government from butting in and let our economy run its course.

Health Care
Let's make doctors and health insurers part of the free market.

Medicare And Social Security
Whether you agree with these programs or not, people worked hard for these benefits and we cannot back out of our deal with our citizens.

The Death Penalty
We've executed people for crimes they did not commit. This is wrong.

National Defense
Peace through strength...And staying out of everybody's hair.

Abortion
Probably as old as pregnancy itself, whether it is legal or not it is not going to go away.

Religion's Role In Our Government
Our government must respect our right to believe, or not, as we see fit. It must not cater to our individual beliefs.

Gun Control
We don't need a government permit to exercise our First Amendment rights, why do we need one to exercise our Second Amendment rights?

Drug Legalization
- What we do in our homes is our business, not the governments.
- If drugs were legal there would be a lot less violence because of them

HOMOSEXUALS IN THE ARMED FORCES
Homosexuals have been serving this country honorably since the Revolution.

HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE
Gays are people too

IMMIGRATION
As long as our standard of living is high and we do not turn this nation into a police state, we will always have to pay a price for illegal immigration.
