Medicare and Social Security
Whether you agree with these programs or not, people worked hard for them and we cannot back out of our deal with them.

We can have a philosophical discussion about whether or not these programs are consistent with a government whose purpose is to provide for the liberty of its citizens another time.

Whether you agree with these entitlement programs or not, the fact is this nation made a deal with its citizens to provide these programs and a lot of people are either counting on them, or will be counting on them, and for the government to back out of this deal would be wrong.

With the Baby Boomers retiring and the ratio of contributing workers-to-beneficiaries decreasing, neither Social Security nor Medicare/Medicaid can sustain current benefit levels without increasing taxes or substantially cutting benefits. Medicare/Medicaid is already operating at a deficit.

This makes it more imperative than ever to change this nation's tax system, decrease, or better yet eliminate, our annual deficit, and make doctors and health insurers answerable to a free market so that our ability to fund these obligations improves. Here's why:

A flat tax will increase federal revenues and a decreased federal deficit will increase available funds, and both will improve our nation's general, overall financial health. A helthier economy will make it easier for this nation to meet its obligations.

A free market health care system will make bring medical costs down, meaning the government will pay less for Medicare/Medicaid programs. It will also make health care and health insurance more affordable for seniors, so they may not have to utilize Medicare.

As these changes take effect, and the financial health of this nation improves and these programs become increasingly solvent, then we discuss whether we want to give younger people the option of opting out and otherwise weaning this nation off these programs.

But regardless of our individual thoughts on these entitlement programs, we must meet the obligations we've made to our older citizens.

The Purpose Of Government
The purpose of government is to provide for the liberty of its citizens.

Our Financial Crisis
Our problems are both short and long term. Something must be done now.

Taxes
A flat tax is the best way to get this country moving again.

Our National Debt
Our annual deficit should be limited to two percent of our Gross Domestic Product.

Capitalism Is Not A Four Letter Word
Only a free market can get our economy out of the doldrums.

What About Boom And Bust Cycles?
Let's keep government from butting in and let our economy run its course.

Health Care
Let's make doctors and health insurers part of the free market.

Medicare And Social Security
Whether you agree with these programs or not, people worked hard for these benefits and we cannot back out of our deal with our citizens.

The Death Penalty
We've executed people for crimes they did not commit. This is wrong.

National Defense
Peace through strength...And staying out of everybody's hair.

Abortion
Probably as old as pregnancy itself, whether it is legal or not it is not going to go away.

Religion's Role In Our Government
Our government must respect our right to believe, or not, as we see fit. It must not cater to our individual beliefs.

Gun Control
We don't need a government permit to exercise our First Amendment rights, why do we need one to exercise our Second Amendment rights?

Drug Legalization
- What we do in our homes is our business, not the governments.
- If drugs were legal there would be a lot less violence because of them

HOMOSEXUALS IN THE ARMED FORCES
Homosexuals have been serving this country honorably since the Revolution.

HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE
Gays are people too

IMMIGRATION
As long as our standard of living is high and we do not turn this nation into a police state, we will always have to pay a price for illegal immigration.
